Lady Gaga speaks out against Kelly Osbourne’s 'Fashion Police'

By Sarah McClanahan,

In response to Kelly Osbourne’s complaints about Lady Gaga’s Little Monsters, Gaga wrote a letter apologizing for their behavior while citing Kelly’s hypocrisy.

This past October, Kelly Osbourne described to Fabulous Magazine how Lady Gaga’s fans, the Little Monsters, had verbally attacked her.

“I get called fat all the time. A big fat whore. Lady Gaga’s fans are the worst. They’ve said I should kill myself, that they hope I get raped. I actually think she’s a good singer but she has the worst fans in the world and you have a responsibility to stop that.”

Since she blamed Mother Monster herself for her fans’ behavior, Gaga decided a public response was appropriate and probably necessary. She posted a respectful yet convincing letter on her official website on Thursday, January 10.

While feeling empathy toward Osbourne for the hurtful comments she has received concerning her weight, Gaga urged her to change her own negativity. Gaga noted that Osbourne, as the host of E!’s Fashion Police, often subjects celebrities to judgment and criticism. She compares the laughing, pointing, and teasing antics of Osbourne and co-host Joan Rivers to how a person would respond to “zoo animals."

Gaga’s message is clear; she cannot control her fanbase, but Osbourne can control how she portrays herself to all the viewers who may emulate her.

In the past, Osbourne has also made disparaging comments about GaGa’s weight, even going so far as to call her a “Butterface."

Gaga had removed the letter but MTV had already taken a screenshot. It is still available here.
