Leonardo DiCaprio plans to take a break and focus on the environment

By Vanessa Frith,

Over the last two years, Leonardo DiCaprio has been working hard to bring viewers films like Django Unchained and upcoming flicks The Great Gatsby and The Wolf of Wall Street. Now the 38-year-old actor needs a break.

According to Ecorazzi, DiCaprio told German newspaper Bild that hew was a “bit drained” and is now “going to take a long, long break. I’ve done three films in two years and I’m just worn out.”

While he has spent so much of his recent time shooting, the star plans on taking some time to catch up with friends.

“I take what I do very seriously when I'm on the set that's all I focus on. So my vice is to hang out with my friends, talk about absolutely nothing of importance and act like a complete idiot,” said DiCaprio, according to, MSN.

However, time off from the studio doesn’t mean all relaxation for this avid environmentalist.

"I would like to improve the world a bit. I will fly around the world doing good for the environment,” said Dicaprio, according to the AFP.

In the past, DiCaprio had been involved with an array of environmental and conservation programs including the World Wildlife Fund, Global Green USA, Save Tigers Now, and the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.

“My roof is covered with solar panels,” he said. "My car is electric. A normal person does not drive more than 50 kilometres (31 miles) a day. That can be done with a plug,” said DiCaprio of the movement he hopes to spread, according to the AFP.
