British singer Lily Allen is thanking fans on Twitter for their well-wishes after giving birth to daughter Marnie Rose Cooper.
Her rep confirmed the good news to Us Weekly, noting that the baby was born in London.
Allen later sent out a message to fans on Twitter, writing, “Quite overwhelmed by all the well wishing going on. THANKYOU everybody x x x.”
As USA Today notes, Allen had been giving fans updates the past few days, hinting that she and husband Sam Cooper could be welcoming the baby at any moment.
On New Year’s Day, she joked, “I thought I was in labour but I just needed to fart. #YOLO.” That was followed by, “My husband is currently making me a Pantera mix cd to take to the birthing suite. #cute.”
A couple of days later, she wrote, “3rd curry this week,” then, “Nothing #cosywomb.”
Allen and Cooper have been married for two years. They welcomed their first child, daughter Ethel Mary, on Noc. 25, 2011. While she admitted that the second pregnancy was a surprise, a source told the Daily Mirror when they announced they were expecting again, “The pair of them have loved every minute of parenthood so far and wanted to expand their brood quickly. So it's great timing.”
