Lindsay Lohan entered a not guilty plea in court Tuesday following being charged with lying to police in her June car accident.
Lohan, who reportedly fired her lawyer Shawn Holley and replaced her with Mark Heller, was not in court this morning when the plea was submitted, Reuters reports.
The 26-year-old actress was arraigned on three charges following allegations that she lied to police, stating she was not driving when her vehicle collided with a truck on Pacific Coast Highway on the way to the set of Liz & Dick.
Lohan was charged with lying to police following a thorough investigation into the accident which proved she was driving during the accident.
Due to the confusion surrounding Lohan’s lawyer flip-flopping, the judge is asking that the Mean Girls actress appear in court on January 30, TMZ reports. Normally a lawyer’s presence is all that is necessary, but due to the confusion surrounding her representation a judge is asking that the troubled star be in attendance.
Lohan is facing severe punishment if convicted as she is already on probation for 2012 jewelery theft and told specifically to stay out of trouble.
