The 26-year-old actress signed the walking paper, and fired her trusted attorney Shawn Holley, who had been keeping her out of jail.
To make it more difficult, Lohan hired a New York lawyer Mark Heller, whose license was suspended for five years in 1994, and was called a "menace to the public" by a number of lawyers, to represent her in the NYC assault case, TMZ reported.
Holley represented the Liz and Dick actress for multiple charges in L.A., most recently when she allegedly lied to a police officer after a car crash.
She also represented her in the case where Lohan stole a necklace from a Venice jewelry store.
The lawyer was reportedly on her way to the courthouse to negotiate with the judge about her client's alleged lies, while she received the walking paper Heller sent her.
To make it way more difficult, Lohan still owed the famous lawyer $300,000 in legal fees, and had not made any payment for the last six months, Radar Online reported.
Holley was well-respected by all the judges, who thought that Lohan was much benefited by having Holley as her lawyer.
Lohan would be back in court on January 15.
