Lindsay Lohan puts in not guilty plea for lying to cops, fired lawyer Shawn Holley shows up

By Daniel S Levine,

Lindsay Lohan was supposed to be in court again today, but she did not show. Instead, lawyer Shawn Holley, who was reportedly fired just yesterday, entered the not guilty plea.

Holley’s presence understandably confused the judge during the short hearing in Los Angeles, reports TMZ. When asked if she was still working for the Liz & Dick star, Holley replied, “At this point, yes.”

“The representation issue will be nailed down,” she said.

As we previously reported, Holley had been notified on her way to court yesterday that she would be replaced by New York lawyer Mark Heller. Firing Holley had reportedly nixed a possible plea deal with the judge that would have required Lohan to spend six months in “lockdown rehab.”

Sources for TMZ said that Lohan wanted Holley back. Based on today’s events, it looks like Holley is still representing Lohan, at least for this case.

Lohan is being charged with three misdemeanors in connection to her car crash over the summer. She is charged with lying to police, telling them that she was not behind the wheel although witnesses say she was.

The judge set a pretrial date for Jan. 30. Lohan will have to appear in court that day.
