Mark Wahlberg attempts local Philadelphia weather and traffic reports (Video)

By Sarah McClanahan,

In town for a screening of his latest movie Broken City, Mark Wahlberg stopped by Good Day Philadelphia and proceeded to cover the weather and traffic reports.

To promote his latest film, Wahlberg and director Allen Hughes stopped by Philadelphia for a screening attended by hundreds of fans. Although the movie was neither filmed nor set in the town, in an interview for Good Day Philadelphia, a news anchor mentions the city holds a special place in his heart because he has spent a lot of time there filming other movies.

Additionally, Mark claims he is proud to be an “honorary Philadelphian” because Philadelphia and Boston, the city where he was born and raised, share a lot of similarities. Thus, he is overjoyed the city has welcomed him as one of their own
.
The crew got more than they bargained for when Wahlberg did their jobs, too.

In the video for the WTXF Fox show, Wahlberg appeared to be taking his new role very seriously as he and Allen discussed the weekly temperature highs and lows. However, during the traffic report, hilarity ensued. The duo could not keep a straight face, but Wahlberg tried to push through the segment, leaving the audience with a witty comment about the freeway back-ups, “Stop and get yourself a hoagie.”

This was not the first celebrity that has taken over for weather reporters. USA Today reports that earlier in November, actress Scarlett Johansson stepped in for a sick Al Roker, volunteering her talents as she gave an overview of the weather for The Today Show.
