Is the new celebrity trend to stand in for meteorologists and do a weather report? After Scarlett Johansson stood in for Al Roker on The Today Show, Mark Wahlberg did some forecasting of his own, standing in at a local Philadelphia Fox station with his Dark City director Allen Hughes.
Wahlberg appeared on Fox 29 to do the weather, mostly sticking with the script and having fun with the anchors. However, he went way off the script for the traffic report.
“Expect delays here,” he said, pointing to the screen. “Stop and get yourself a hoagie,” he joked, reports USA Today.
Wahlberg’s trip to Philly wasn’t all joking though. He did talk to CBS on the radio about upcoming projects, like a sequel to the hit Seth McFarlane comedy Ted.
When asked if he’d like to do more comedies, he said, “Yeah, we’ve got a couple of comedy things that we’re working on right now that are very close to starting actually, and then were doing Ted 2. And the great thing about it is, it definitely is going to be better than the first one because Seth MacFarlane, he comes from television, so he’s got ideas that are just crazy.”
The actor co-stars in Dark City with Russell Crowe. The film opens on Jan. 18.
Back in November, Johansson did the weather when she appeared on Today to promote Hitchcock.
