During the Golden Globes last weekend, Mel Gibson sat beside Jodie Foster, who was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille award for her career. Foster thanked the controversial actor during her lengthy speech and cast him in her last movie, The Beaver. Their relationship has sparked some speculation over the father of Foster’s children and some think that Gibson could actually be it, which would explain why she still supports him when the rest of Hollywood doesn’t.
“The kids look like him [Gibson] but blonder,” an amateur genealogist told The New York Post about Charles, 14, and Kit, 12, who were at the Globes.
Foster and Gibson have been friends since working on Maverick together in 1994.
The Post also notes that the late casting director Randy Stone, who was also a close friend of Foster’s, is another candidate.
The public will likely have to keep wondering about her children’s real father for another few years. Foster, who made a point to ask for privacy during her Globes speech, has said that she won’t reveal their father’s identity until they turn 21, notes The Daily Mail.
“Randy told me that Jodie said she’ll tell the boys who their father is when they’re 21,” Stone’s mother, the Rev. Beverly Bates, told the Daily Mail.
Gibson starred in Foster’s The Beaver in 2011. He has a role in the upcoming Machete Kills.
