Olympic Gold medalist Michelle Kwan married longtime beau Clay Pell on Saturday, Jan. 19.
The figure skating champ and National Security staff politico for the White House wed in Providence, R.I., People reports.
Kwan, 32, wore an ivory Vera Wang gown as she walked down the aisle, accompanied by her father. Her husband to be was dressed in full uniform.
According to the report, the two were so overtaken by the moment they kissed before being announced as husband and wife.The minister made light of the moment saying, “'And for their second first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. Clay Pell,' and everyone laughed,” a source revealed.
The newly dubbed husband and wife met in April 2011. Kwan, who has two Olympic medals, nine U.S national wins as well as five world championships is now working as a senior advisor for public diplomacy and public affairs.
The bride and groom wed in front of 240 witnesses, E! News reports. Some of the guests included fellow Olympians Brian Boitano, Dick Button, Dorothy Hamill and Peter Oppegard.
Kwan announced her engagement in Sept. 2012.
