By Gavriella Tjandra,

Mickey Rourke's recent snowboarding death was a hoax.

The 60-year-old actor recently became the victim of death hoax, after a report spread vastly and hastily, saying that Rourke died of a snowboarding accident in Switzerland, E! News reported.

Rourke's agent David Unger confirmed to New York Post that Rourke was very much alive.

"(Mickey) is very touched by the outpouring of concern, and is alive and well in Beverly Hills,"

He continued, “I have been getting condolence calls from all over the world. But I can confirm Mickey is very alive."

Mickey Rourke, was reported vacationing with his family and friends. He was snowboarding in Zermatt, Switzerland, when he lost control and struck a tree in a high speed rate.

According to the report, Rourke shortly died after the accident.

E! News investigated the notorious news prank source. Global Associated News (GAN) had been generating fake news reports about celebrity deaths. It normally was caused by snowboarding accidents in Swiss Alps.

GAN reported Eddie Murphy and Denzel Washington as Swiss Alps snowboarding victims, whereas others, such as Tony Danza and Jeff Goldblum fell of a cliff in New Zealand, or Usher, dying in a fatal car crash.
