Miss Alabama Katherine Webb is still riding her sudden fame from ESPN’s coverage of the BCS Championship game earlier this month and already has plans to cash in on the fame. She’s joined ABC’s Celebrity Diving and will be working for Inside Edition at the Super Bowl. There have been rumors that she might even be moving to New York and joining Dancing With The Stars, but Webb said on Twitter that those rumors are not true.
TMZ confirmed on Monday that Webb signed on to do Celebrity Diving, which is being filmed in Los Angeles. Other contestants on the show include Ndamukong Suh, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Nicole Eggert, Kendra Wilkinson, Louie Anderson, and Drake Bell.
Also on Monday, The New York Post claimed that Webb was making the move to the Big Apple to pursue her modeling career. She will be there later this week to work on a Sports Illustrated photoshoot. She was also reportedly overheard talking about joining DWTS.
Webb, who now has 274,000 followers, tweeted that there was no truth to this. “Definitely not moving to NYC #justsoyouknow,” she wrote after the story was published.
She then told a fan who asked if any of it was true, “love to dance! But no DWTS.”
Webb is the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron, who helped his team win the BCS Championship. Although McCarron had reportedly not been too happy about her meteoric rise to fame, TMZ’s sources now say that he’s supporting her Hollywood career.
