Morrissey cancels more dates due to health

By Vanessa Frith,

Morrissey, former front man of the Smiths, has cancelled more shows on his U.S. tour due to health reasons.

After being hospitalized last Friday in royal Oaks, Mich. for a suspected bladder infection, the singer has now been diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer, according to Billboard.

Having already cancelled his last three shows, Morrissey will now be postponing his next six shows, according to Reuters.

Billboard reports that these dates include Asheville, North Carolina; Nashville, Tennessee; Atlanta, Georgia; Lawrence, Kansas; Clear Lake, Iowa; and Lincoln, Nebraska. Morrissey expects to be back on stage for the February 9 show in Las Vegas.

"Morrissey is expected to make a full recovery and thanks everyone concerned for their support during this time," said spokeswoman Lauren Papapietro, according to Reuters.

“Morrissey apologizes greatly for any and all inconvenience and looks forward to continuing his U.S. tour," Papapietro further stated as reported by Billboard.

Billboard further reports that rescheduled dates will be announced shortly.
