A rep for Morrissey, the former Smiths frontman, said the singer has rescheduled six upcoming tour dates because of his recent diagnosis with a stomach ulcer.
Scrapped performances include shows in Asheville, N.C.; Nashville, Tenn.; Atlanta, Ga.; Lawrence, Kans.; Clear Lake, Iowa; and Lincoln, Neb, a rep told Billboard. Rescheduled dates will be announced soon, according to Billboard.
Morrissey, 53, is expected to make a full recovery in two weeks in time for his tour to resume Feb. 9 in Las Vegas as scheduled.
The singer-songwriter was admitted to William Beumont Hospital due to a suspected bladder infection Friday, according to a previous story on The Celebrity Cafe. Shows in Flint, Mich. for that night, Minneapolis (Friday) and Chicago (Saturday) were also postponed when he was admitted, according to an online press release.
“Morrissey apologizes greatly for any and all inconvenience and looks forward to continuing his U.S. tour,” his rep said.
The tour, not associated with a new album release of Morrissey's, began in the U.S. last October.
