Just a week after Brooklyn Nets former head coach Avery Johnson was fired, the Nets seem to be improving highly on both ends of the floor. Wednesday, the Nets defeated the Thunder 110-93.
Johnson was fired for having a simple offense and backtracking in season wins, mainly losing a majority of games after a great start. In December, they lost 11 of 16 games.
Their current record is 17-15 after winning three of their last four games.
According to the N.Y. Times, the Nets were leading at one time by 23 points. When asked about their great game compared to December’s play, Nets Deron Williams said, “It’s a new year, it’s 2013.”
Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant was ejected in the fourth quarter. His ejection halted the Thunder’s attempt to come back into the game for a win. When asked about his ejection, CBS Sports reports that Durant said, "I just thought it was a bad call. Like I said, you get frustrated throughout a game and show emotion. That's how you can tell you love it."
The Nets play the Washington Wizards on Friday. The Thunder’s next opponent is also Friday versus the Philadelphia 76ers.
