New York Mets David Wright engaged to Molly Beers

The New York Mets third baseman David Wright is engaged to model beauty Molly Beers.

ESPN reports that Wright proposed to his longtime girlfriend over the holidays.

The news of the engagement comes just weeks after Wright signed an eight year, $138 million contract, USA Today reports. Beer was in attendance when Wright signed the deal.

Wright has been a significant part of the New York Mets since 2004.
Beers and Wright’s relationship was first revealed after the All-Star champ threw the brunette beauty a surprise birthday party during the All-Star break in 2008.

According to Hardball, 30-year-old Wright ‘s batting average stands 06/.391/.492 with 21 home runs in addition to 21 runs-batted-in in 2012.

The two have not revealed a wedding date or the ring he proposed with.

Wright is also in charge of creating the Wright Foundation which helps to children who are undergoing care and treatment. The 30-year-old ball player appeared in Vegas to speak on behalf of the foundation, reports state.
