Singers Nicki Minaj and Adam Levine have confirmed they will each develop collections of clothing and accessories for Kmart that reflect their personal styles.
According to Nicki Minaj’s official site, as of today both she and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine have begun partnerships with Sears Holdings.
Working with Kmart and the ShopYourWay.com social platform, Minaj and The Voice judge will develop exclusive collections that reflect their “creative talents, expressive personalities, and distinctive individual styles”.
Representatives have noted that the lines will extend beyond the physical products into “fun and engaging social experiences” for Shop Your Way members. They will have the opportunity to view interactive content to get a glimpse into the lifestyles of the two superstars.
From recent quotes, all parties are elated about the partnership.
"We are thrilled to align Kmart and Shop Your Way with two of America's superstars," stated the executive vice president of Sears Holdings, Imran Jooma. "We welcome Adam and Nicki into our world and look forward to capturing their energy and creativity on ShopYourWay.com and translating it into unique apparel, accessories and other merchandise."
"I am so excited to work with this iconic, mass retailer and to bring affordable fashion to my beautiful barbz all across the U.S.," Nicki Minaj added.
For her, the price of the clothing was the most important consideration.
Minaj hinted at the line in an interview withRolling Stone back in August.
"I'm really looking forward to it because I feel like my fans are always asking me, 'Where'd you get this? Where'd you get that?' and sometimes they can't afford certain things, so my biggest goal was to make a line that was going to be affordable to my fans and also rich enough in quality that they'll feel like they're wearing exactly what I'm wearing.”
"Partnering with SHOP YOUR WAY to develop this line was an exciting opportunity for me and I am really looking forward to diving into the process of designing an apparel and accessory collection," said Adam Levine.
These unique collections will be available at some point in 2013 and will only be sold at select Kmart stores and online from ShopYourWay.com, a free program that features personalized deals, rewards, and contests.
