Oprah Winfrey is set to make an appearance on CBS This Morning on Tuesday to tease her much-anticipated interview with Lance Armstrong regarding his use of performance-enhancing drugs.
>According to the Washington Post, she will make an appearance on the morning news talk show to discuss her "no holds-barred" interview that will air Thursday on her network.
Reports have already surfaced that Armstrong interviewed with Winfrey Monday at his home and admitted to her that he used performance-enhancing drugs throughout his cycling career.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gayle King, who is co-host of the morning show and close friends with Winfrey, was instrumental at getting Oprah to go on the show. Oprah has made several appearances on This Morning on several occasions. King is currently serving as editor-at-large for O, Winfrey’s magazine, and has worked with her as a special correspondent on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager told reporters Friday at the Television Critics Association press tour that he had badly wanted his network to obtain the first interview with Armstrong since he was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles, but that it was ultimately Oprah who won out.
