The Sacramento Kings drafted Demarcus Cousins two years ago and have been having problems with him ever since. The young center played for Kentucky before signing his rookie contract with the Kings.
Time and again this season Cousins has lost his temper and caused issues with opponents, teammates, and even his own coaching staff. According to CBS Sports, Cousins was suspended indefinitely on December 22, after a verbal argument with coach Keith Smart. Arguing with coaches and causing problems with the team will make the team's performance suffer in both the short and long term.
Surprisingly, after Cousins was suspended, Kings’ owners Joe and Gavin Maloof, overturned the suspension and had him reinstated. One can only think how long something like this can go on before someone leaves the franchise.
Even though Cousins is not officially up for trade, the rumors have begun to fly, and other team’s interest in him have begun to rise. According to Gather, the Boston Celtics are very interested in 22-year-old Demarcus Cousins, but are not sure they would like to give away key pieces of their team for him.
Other teams that could get a huge benefit from a player with his talent are the Houston Rockets, Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons.
