Paparazzo killed trying to photograph Justin Bieber's Ferrari

By Sarah McClanahan,

While following Justin Bieber’s white Ferrari, a paparazzo stepped into traffic to get a closer look and was struck by an oncoming vehicle and killed.

On the evening of Jan. 1 around 6 p.m., TMZ reports Justin Bieber’s Ferrari was pulled over by the Highway Patrol for a routine traffic stop on Sepulveda Blvd. near the Los Angeles Getty Center. The site confirmed that while two of Bieber’s friends were using the car on loan, Bieber was not present.

According to TMZ, an unidentified paparazzo had been hot on the trail of the car, attempting to snag a picture of the teen sensation. While the Ferrari was stopped, he stepped outside to get a closer view of the scene, but officers told the photographer to back up because the situation was unsafe. At some point after this warning, he was hit by another car.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the paparazzo was pronounced dead at the UCLA Medical Center.

According to the Times, no arrests have been made. LAPD believe drugs and alcohol were not involved in the accident.
