Paramore gave fans what they have been waiting for. The trio will release their self-titled fourth studio album on April 9, and while fans eagerly await the arrival of that date, the band gave even more for fans to crave.
Paramore teased the new single “Now” in a video which was posted on their official website Friday night. The tease showcases a different sound, but it is still a sound that can be recognized as Paramore.
The teaser video also gives a glimpse inside the recording process. “There's a time and a place to die, but this ain't it...” it reads before the video.
This isn’t the first time the band teased their new single.
“If there is a future we want it now” are lyrics they previously shared without revealing that it was from a new song.
Paramore has gone through a period of change since their last album, Brand New Eyes was released in 2009. Two members left the group in 2010. In a blog post, Hayley Williams, Jeremy Davis and Taylor York explained that “Now” represents the journey back.
"Not really sure what else to say except for we love this song,” Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor wrote in a post, according to AceShowbiz. “It just feels like the perfect way to start this new journey we are embarking on not only as a band but as a movement. To show people that you can lose battles but come back and win full on wars. You can rise from ashes. You can make something out of even less than nothing. The only thing you have to do is keep moving forward!"
“Now” will be released on January 22.
