On Thursday, Jan. 3, Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey won a bid to buy out a failing coffee chain in Seattle called Tully’s.
Dempsey’s $9.15 million purchase of the franchise will be made official later this month, once legal matters are settled in court.
The actor took to his Twitter page to talk about the purchase, writing, “We met the green monster, looked her in the eye, and...SHE BLINKED! We got it! Thank you Seattle!”

According to E! Online, the Made of Honor star won the coffee chain in a bankruptcy auction. Before the auction, he tweeted "In Seattle, big day tomorrow. Hope we pull it off!" He even posted a picture of himself with a barista from one of the stores.
Tully’s has 47 locations throughout Washington and California. Dempsey beat out Starbucks in the auction, who was also bidding on the franchise.
A hearing is set for Jan. 11 for a bankruptcy judge to approve of the sale.
