Pearl Jam announced today that they will perform at the historic Wrigley Field in Chicago, the home of the Cubs.
The band announced the news on their official site, noting that it will be billed as An Evening With Pearl Jam and is the second of two shows the band has planned for that month. On July 16, they will perform at the Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario. On July 19, they will perform at Wrigley.
In recent years, the iconic ballpark has been used as a music venue while the Cubs are away. Billboard notes that past acts to perform there include Paul McCartney, Dave Matthews Band and Bruce Springsteen.
Frontman Eddie Vedder is a Chicago native and not afraid to promote his love of the Cubs. He appeared at Springsteen’s performance and has sung “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” five times at Cubs games. He has also thrown out the first pitch.
