Kristen's dismissal after losing Restaurant Wars has Josie feeling a little guilty about her lackluster performance. But she's still in the competition and she's not going to let her feelings get in the way of winning.
The Quickfire Challenge is sushi. Master sushi chef Katsuya Uechi is the segment's guest judge. Unlike previous Quickfire Challenges, the winner will not receive immunity but they will get $5,000.
During the tasting, Katsuya thinks Josie's dish needed more flavor, the bacon on Josh's plat was too oily, and Lizzie's overly complicated lobster was too fishy. The master chef liked Brooke's octopus with yuzu and grated wasabi, and Stefan's yellowtail with grilled shitake and raw lobster with seaweed and unagi. He ultimately picked Stefan as the Quickfire Challenge winner.

The Elimination Challenge took a sharp turn from Asian cuisine. The chefs were tasked with making fried chicken. How hard could that be? This supposedly simple dish turned out to be a lot more complicated for these chefs hoping to win over Tom and his chef friends: David Chang, Michelle Bernstein, Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck.
In an attempt to be over the top a lot of the chefs discarded traditional fried chicken recipes with mixed results. Brooke's attempt at a healthier, skinless chicken fell flat. Josie's "traditional Southern" dish was accused of being too greasy. Lizzie's slaw got more praise than her bird. Sheldon's momofuku wings were lacking ... in quantity.
Josh, however, provided a simple and straightforward smoked fried chicken with hot sauce and blue cheese that the chef's and judges loved. Jose won the night's Challenge and a year’s supply of Terlato Wine.
Stefan, Brooke and Josie were called in to defend their meals and decisions. Stefan tried to B.S. his way out of elimination but it was Josie who was ordered to pack her knives and go.
