Rap artist Rick Ross crashed his 2011 silver Rolls-Royce in Ft. Lauderdale Monday morning when he slammed it into a residential apartment building trying to escape gunfire.
According to Local 10, a gunman opened fire on Ross and the female passenger, but neither were injured.
Police told the local station that a car approached Ross and the passenger “and someone inside fired off multiple shots” at about 5 a.m.
Police reports state that the victims were William L. Roberts, Rick Ross’ real name, and Shateria L. Moragne-el.
Fort Lauderdale Police Detective DeAnna Garcia told The Chicago Tribune that, "An unknown vehicle shot a couple of rounds. The [Rolls Royce] was not struck."
An employee of a diner in the area told Local 10 that “Ross was shaken up after the drive by shooting.”
According to TMZ, several buildings “were struck by gunfire.”
Police are still looking for the gunman and no arrests have been made related to the incident.
