Rick Ross gets 24-hour security after drive-by shooting, raps about near-death experience

Rick Ross is already rapping about his near-death experience on Monday after being the target of a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He also reportedly hired 24-hour security.

TMZ notes that Ross already takes armed security with him during performances and other public appearances. He’s now decided to have armed security around him at all times.

Ross considers the incident an “eye-opener,” according to TMZ’s sources. He will do whatever he can to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

The incident has already made it into his music. “I can’t believe I’m alive,” Ross raps in a new remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “B---- Don’t Kill my Vibe.” The new verse was recorded just hours after the shooting and was distributed online by his record label, notes Miami Herald.

Police have also released the 911 tape from the Floridian diner, where Ross was having breakfast Monday morning. Ross was targeted as he left and crashed his Rolls-Royce into a building while trying to avoid the gunshots. The shooter managed to get away.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent raised some eyebrows on Tuesday when he tweeted that he thinks it was all staged.
