Rapper Rick Ross may have been the target of a drive-by shooting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida early this morning. While trying to escape the gunfire, Ross crashed his Rolls-Royce into a building, but he and a female passenger were not hurt.
According to Local 10.com, multiple gunshots were fired around 5 a.m. Police say the shots came from another vehicle that approached Ross’ car. The car crashed into an apartment building.
Police would not release any information about the passengers in the vehicle or anything about the vehicle where the shots came from.
However, a Floridian diner employee told the site that Ross was the person in the vehicle that crashed. Another local business owner confirmed that it was the rapper, who is a Miami native and recently bought a house in the area.
Ross later spoke to police at the diner.
Back in December, Ross had been forced to cancel several tour dates because of reported gang threats. He also had to cancel shows last year due to health concerns. He recently released God Forgives, I Don’t.
