Paris Hilton attended the Sundance Film Festival in Utah this week, and while the socialite attended a handful of parties in addition to skiing, actor Robert Redford is not too pleased to have the reality starlet attend an event which is meant to celebrate independent films.
San Francisco Gate reports that the Lions for Lambs actor was displeased with Hilton’s presence at this year’s Sundance Festival, claiming she was simply there to promote her own image and celebrate the films.
According to Page Six Redford complained that Hilton “didn’t have anything to do with the films,” explaining during a panel discussion, “I said, ‘What movie is she in?’” He adds that having her there simply for the parties and not for the films made the event “not as much fun.” He explained, “There are too many people who come to the festival to leverage their own self-interest.”
Redford is hoping for a change of location and with some vendors no longer attending, that the event's focus will be restored.
