The red carpet premiere of the highly anticipated Gangster Squad was held in Los Angeles last night, with stars Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin on hand. Gosling attended without his girlfriend, Eva Mendes, instead going with his mother, Donna.
“My mother's wearing all my girlfriend's clothes," Gosling joked to E! News.
“I'm wearing Eva Mendes,” Donna added. “She let me raid her closet.”
The actor told reporters that he enjoyed working with Penn again after the two co-starred in Milk. “He's great, we've been friends for a long time,” he told E!.
Stone, who wore a red Lanvin dress, was without Spider-Man co-star and boyfriend Andrew Garfield.
Gangster Squad reunites Stone with Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer and hits theaters on Jan. 11. The film is set in 1940s Los Angeles and features Brolin and Gosling as members of an elite squad going after mob boss Mickey Cohen, played by Penn.
