Gangster Squad handsome actor Ryan Gosling reveals that he was incredibly close to becoming a Backstreet Boy.
Us Weekly reports that the 32-year-old actor sat down with Celebuzz where he explains his missed chance at grouping up with one the 1990s' hottest boy bands.
"When I was doing the Mickey Mouse Club we were living in the same place as that guy A.J. [McLean] from the Backstreet Boys. And so he was always talking about the Backstreet Boys, but they were just forming that band so he was saying how big they were going to be -- and he had a poster of them in his house."
Continuing, Gosling explains, “We were like . . . that's never going to happen. Didn't they already do that with New Kids [On the Block]? You're a little late. Cut to . . . I was wrong."
Still there are no hard feelings as Gosling notes, “That ship has sailed.” Gosling explains that he hasn’t kept in touch with McLean either and not by his own choice as he is “not returning my calls,” he quips.
Apparently, McLean got wind of the interview and explained to TMZ that he didn’t give the Crazy, Stupid, Love actor the blow off, he simply didn’t have his number.
Oh, how life would be different if Gosling were a Backstreet Boy!
