Secrets from set of Lindsay Lohan's 'The Canyons' revealed in NY Times profile

By Gina DiFalco,

Working with Lindsay Lohan on the indie film The Canyons was reportedly such a nightmare that she was fired, then re-hired, which somehow managed to stay out of the press.

But in a New York Times profile written by Stephen Rodrick titled “Here Is What Happens When You Cast Lindsay Lohan in Your Movie,” secrets from the set have been revealed.

When writer Bret Easton Ellis and director Paul Schrader first signed her on, she agreed to a few things: she would be paid $100 a day and a shared portion of the profits of the film, she would have to agree to a four-way sex scene and she wouldn’t be provided with a trailer. But when she didn’t show up for the first read-through, she was fired.

Somehow Lohan convinced Schrader to hire her again, saying she had been up since 3 a.m. and was knocked out by a sleeping pill, but she soon proved to be a problem once again.

The Huffington Post reports that she refused to take off her robe before the sex scene until her co-star, porn star James Deen, dropped his robe and made her feel more comfortable.

Two trailers for The Canyons have been released.
