Selena Gomez is hard at work on the follow-up to her 2011 album, When the Sun Goes Down. Although she’s keeping many details about the album to herself, she does have one hope for her new album that she’ll talk about. She hopes to collaborate with her best friend Taylor Swift.
“I want to [work with Taylor]!” Selena told ET Online, according to Emtertainmentwise. “We should, I have like a month left. She's actually recording too right now, so she's in Nashville, but hopefully.”
Fans will have to wait until the album’s release to find out if the collaboration happens. The album, though, does not have a release date. What is for sure is the release of her new single, which will come in March.
Selena has high hopes for her new album. She wants to “surprise” everyone with her new material. She didn’t give too many hints about her new music, but said a “big turn” influenced the recording process, which made her more open in her music.
"I think for me it was actually interesting to see that towards the middle of me recording my record, a big turn happened to me and it was incredible to see how I applied that to music because I've never done that before and it's great,” she told MTV News. "I think the older I'm getting the more I'm just kind of like I'm cool to share my side of the stories as much as I can, so I'm having a lot of fun."
