After her breakup with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez is leaning on her best friend.
At her UNICEF charity concert on Friday, Gomez, 20, performed the breakup anthems “Cry Me A River” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.” She called the past few months, “weird and sad and cool,” but she had her best friend Taylor Swift, 23, to support her through the weird and sad times.
Selena talked about her friendship with the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer with reporters at the one night only concert.
“Taylor is one of the most inspirational, positive, good-hearted people I know,” she said, according to Hollywood Life. “I think she’s been a big part of me staying who I am, too. I’ve been through a lot in the past few months. It’s been weird and sad and cool.”
The Daily Mail reports, in the new issue of Nylon Magazine, Selena also talked about her friendship with Swift. She said she’s her go-to girl for boyfriend advice. Taylor, who has experienced her own heartbreak many times, is single once again as well. Swift and One Direction’s Harry Styles split earlier this year.
“We have both experienced the same things at the same time. But we've never once talked about our industry,” she said in an interview with Nylon Magazine. “She just became the person I'd go to for an issue with my family or boyfriend. It's so hard to trust girls, so I'm lucky to have her.”
