Sheryl Crow, who was engaged to the disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong for three years, seems to have a deep empathy toward him.
She told Entertainment Tonight, as reported in E!, that she felt honesty was the key.
"Got to be really hard to walk around knowing that you're not telling the truth about something," she said. "I think that honesty is always the best bet and that the truth will set you free."
She then continued, "To carry a weight like that around would be devastating in the long run. I always contend that the truth is the best way to go,"
Having her saying that, her role in Armstrong's doping decision was questionably a lot, according to TMZ
They dated back in 2003 until 2006, in which Armstrong competed in Tour de France competitions twice, and won both races.
Crow was interviewed by the authorities in 2011 about this, and proved to be giving information about the doping situation.
Two close sources said that even though she knew a lot of this condition, she had never spoken about it publicly.
Her agent had no comment when reached.
