Canadian crooner Michael Buble and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, announced this morning that they are expecting their first child.
The couple spread the news in a YouTube video, “Mike y Yo queremos contarles algo…” (Mike and I want to tell you all something…”), posted on Bublé’s Facebook page. The video, set to the singer’s song “Haven’t Met You Yet,” shows the couple’s ultrasound photo and reads “We’re having a baby Bublé!!! Vamos a tener un bebito Bublé!!!”
Bublé, 37, and Lopilato, 25, married in three ceremonies in March 2011 in Buenos Aires, days later in front of friends and family, and in May in Vancouver, according to Us Weekly.
This appears to be more good news for the pop-standards singer after his second NBC Christmas special, Home for the Holidays drew 7.2 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating in December, according to Hollywood Reporter.
In October 2011, Bublé told ET Canada that he was more than ready to start a family with his then-new bride, according to People.
“I’ve said to [Luisana] a million times I’d love to have kids,” Bublé said then, adding that he wanted to wait until Lopilato had said she was ready to have children.
“But I always say to her when you’re ready – when you feel like you’ve lived and you’ve partied and done all the things you want to do. When you’ve worked your butt off, then tell me.”
There is no word yet on the baby’s due date.
