Taylor Swift may receive a lot of flak for singing songs about her ex-boyfriends, but T-Bone Burnett, who collaborated with the 22-year-old songstress on The Hunger Games theme song “Eyes Open,” is raving about Swift saying he was quite impressed by her.
“She's also got some kind of insight insider something. She said something that I thought was interesting. She said that whoever is writing the new songs is raising the next generation,” he gushed, as reported by E! News.
Burnett calls the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer a “great girl” adding, “I thought it was interesting that she would take on that kind of responsibility. Not that it was her responsibility but she wasn't going to shake that responsibility. We need more artists like that."
Swift was nominated for a Golden Globe for the hit song, but was ultimately defeated by Adele’s “Skyfall.”
Even without the award Swift should be flattered as Burnett notes once the job was brought up, she was the first person he thought of to take the job.
“She seemed like the right voice for the musical voice for Katniss,” he explained. “So she's the first person we contacted really and then we didn't know what we were going to do. It was more, 'Do you want to do something? Let's do something."
Burnett notes that he would be more than happy to work with the Grammy award winning singer again. Currently the country sweetheart has informed fans that she is back in studio working on new music, with many alleging that the music could be about her most recent heartache, Harry Styles.
