Ten movie releases set for 2013

With many movies set to hit theaters within the next few months, 2013 seems to be the year for epic movie releases. From new twists on classic tales, to sequels of our favorite films, 2013 is sure to have a favorite movie release for everyone.

10. Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters
The classic siblings, Hansel and Gretel, take on a not so classic adventure in Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters. The new twist on the fairy tale characters sends these two siblings on a chase around the world to kill witches. The film stars Jeremy Renner as Hansel, and Gemma Arterton as Gretel. It is set to hit theaters January 25.

9. Oz: The Great and Powerful
A circus magician finds his way into the magical world of Oz where he meets the three witches of the classic tale The Wizard of Oz. Oscar takes the audience through the discovery of how and why the witches became good and evil. Oz will be in theaters on March 8.

8. The Croods
Follow the world’s first prehistoric family as they discover a more modern world. This cartooned family comedy stars Nicolas Cage and Emma Stone, and will be in theaters on March 22.

7. Iron Man 3
Tony Stark, commonly known as, Iron Man, will face his most powerful enemy yet in the third film in the Iron Man series. The film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, and Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts. Be sure to catch this film in theaters May 3.

6. Epic
A modern twist on the classic Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, in this film a teenage girl finds herself lost in a magical world of the forest after she accidently shrinks down to a microscopic size. Together, the teenage girl and the good creatures of the forest ban against the evil forces that attempt to destroy their world. Epic will be released on May 24 and stars the voices of Amanda Seyfried and Steven Tyler.

5. The Hangover Part III
The Wolfpack seems to have a hangover that never ends. The three best friends will find themselves getting into trouble once more, but this time without a wedding or bachelor party to start the fun. The third film stars Bradley Cooper, Jamie Chung and Zach Galifianakis, and will be in theaters May 24.

4. The Great Gatsby
The familiar tale of Nick Carrawy and Gatsby will come to life again in theaters this May. The remake stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby, Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway, and Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan.

3. After Earth
This sci-fi film lands a father and son on an unknown planet after a crash landing in space. After realizing the planet, which happens to be Earth, has been evacuated by humans nearly a thousand years earlier, the father and son run into some unexpected troubles. After Earth stars Will Smith and his son, Jaden Smith, and is set to hit theaters June 7.

2. Monsters University
Before causing trouble at the factory in Monsters Inc, Mike and Sulley spent time together at the University of Fear. Monsters University takes the audience back to a time before these two were friends. The Monsters sequel will premiere June 21.

1. Paranormal Activity 5
After four successful films examining the paranormal horror that goes on inside your house while you are asleep, Paranormal Activity is back for a fifth film, set to hit theaters October 25.
