Screen Actors Guild Awards viewers were certain they saw a wardrobe malfunction when The Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence walked on stage to accept her award for her role in the dramedy Silver Linings Playbook, but in fact there was no malfunction at all as explained by the designer.
The alleged malfunction allegedly occurred when Lawrence lifted her dress to go on stage to accept her award, LA Times reports. Viewers saw a sheer section which revealed Lawrence’s thighs in the stunning Christian Dior gown. According to the House of Dior, all viewers saw was the design.
In a statement released to USA Today, the designer notes, “The dress is made with different levels of tulle and satin and that is what the viewers saw when Jennifer lifted her dress slightly. It was not ripped and there was no malfunction ... it was the design of the gown."
No doubt the 22-year-old actress stunned in the navy ensemble as she picked up her second award for the film in which she co-starred with Bradley Cooper. Next up for Lawrence, the Academy Awards.
