If you happen to own a record label and have an extra $75 million around, you could sign rapper T.I. The hip-hop star, who recently released Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head, is now a free agent and looking for a new label to sign with.
TMZ is reporting that the rapper’s 10-year contract with Atlantic Records ended last month and he’s already being courted by some of the biggest names in the business.
Sources close to T.I. say that he requests a $75 million deal that will include three albums, plus a 10-20 percent cut of publishing, merchandise, tours and videos. There will also be corporate endorsement deals and the first rights to sign any other Grand Hustle artists.
Dr. Dre recently met with T.I., asking him to join Interscope, while Jay-Z is hoping he signs with Roc Nation.
Sony has offered $50 million, which is the only official offer at the moment. Universal is expected to make its offer next.
As Rap-Up notes, T.I. could also go back to Atlantic, which would likely be more than happy to have him. His latest album sold 179,000 copies during its first week last month, securing the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 album chart.
