This Week in Fashion: Glasses & Haute Couture

By Taja Whitted,

As the fashion hysteria of the President’s inauguration dies down, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton steals our attention with her noteworthy frames.

Due to suffering a blood clot and concussion last month, Clinton is taking a break from contacts and giving glasses a due comeback.

“She'll be wearing these glasses instead of her contacts for a period of time because of lingering issues stemming from her concussion," said Phillip Reines, Clinton’s spokesman.

Although Clinton may have a different prescription, we can take her lead and bring glasses back into style. One popular site to check out is Warby Parker, which specializes in vintage and trendy frames at an affordable price range.

In Paris, Haute Couture Fashion week wrapped up with themes of bold colors, lace and dramatic prints lined up to dazzle this coming Spring/Summer 2013.

Leather and fringe were also details favored by designers Donatella Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier evening wear gowns. These details are easily transferable for women’s everyday-wear by pairing these elements with basic items.

On the topic of Paris, French blog queen Garance Doré and Stella McCartney caught up over McCartney’s first moments in fashion and how she originally felt like an outsider.
"I aspired to this kind of glamorous world. You know, the moments I had contact with it, it didn't feel like it welcomed me," said McCartney during the interview with Doré

Check in next week to see the best and worst from the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards.
