ABC filled several roles for its new pilots on Wednesday, hiring June Diane Raphael for Mandy Moore’s pilot and adding actors for Mixology and Killer Women.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Raphael, who appeared on Fox’s New Girl and Adult Swim’s NTSF:SD:SVU, will star in Pulling with Moore. The single-camera comedy pilot is based on a British series about women in their 30s living life without society’s rules. Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky wrote the pilot and Jason Moore is directing.
Mixology, which was created by Hangover writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, will star Glee actress Vanessa Lengies, reports TVLine. She will co-star with Adam Campbell (Touch) and Craig Frank (Up all Night) in the series about people trying to find romance at a bar in a single night. There are still four female roles and three male roles left to fill.
Meanwhile, Killer Women has found its male lead in Necessary Roughness’ Marc Blucas, according to Deadline. That project stars Tricia Helfer as the only female member of the Texas Rangers. It’s based on the Argentine series Mujeres Asesinas and will be co-executive produced by Sofia Vergara. Lawrence Trilling is directing and Hannah Shakespeare penned the pilot.
