Adam Levine on his latest perfume: "It smells like [beep]"

Adam Levine says his newly-released perfume stinks.

The Maroon 5's frontman joked around with E! News about the launch of his perfume, 222 by Adam Levine, saying "It smells like ****."

He then stopped goofing around, got serious, and said, "It smells really good. Well, I couldn't really conceive the idea of not loving whatever it was."

He added, "The task was to make something that I would wear. So that was a process and we finally came to a great conclusion and it smells great. I fully endorse it and I'm really happy because it has my name on it."

Levine previously tweeted about his perfume, reassuring it would assist both genders equally.

"2 facts about my fragrance 1 men wont smell like a bad 80s movie 2 women wont smell like a stripper (not that theres anything wrong w/ that)."

Adam Levine was previously against celebrity fragrances.

He tweeted, "I also would like to put an official ban on celebrity fragrances. Punishable by death from this point forward," as Fox News reported.

When asked why he changed his mind on this, he thought it would be cool if it was done properly.

"I kind of thought to myself, 'Well I’m interested in fashion and there’s a lot of things about it that could be really cool if done properly. So I want to do a thing that’s never done properly. That’s my goal. It’s going to be cool."

Well, as fellow The Voice co-star Christina Aguilera told him, "Ha ha. Adam Levine, what a difference a year makes. Welcome to the celebrity fragrance family!"
