New mama Adele may have been out of commission after giving birth to her first child last year, but the British songstress was still awarded at the Grammys. While she accepted the award for Best Solo Pop Performance she was almost interrupted by celebrity prankster Vitalli Sedik.
New York Daily Mail reports that Adele was receiving the award by fellow musicians Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull when Lopez’s sensed a bit of interruption.
The Wedding Planner beauty spotted Sedik off to the side and waved him off, knowing he was not supposed to be at the prestigious event.
Still the Ukrainian personality pursued coming on stage sating, “It’s such an honor to receive this award…I love you, Adele.”
He quickly left the stage while Adele turned to Lopez saying, “You’re my lucky charm.” Sedik spend the night in jail for his stunt.
According to The Associated Press, Sedik was allowed into the awards ceremony despite not having a ticket.
Sedik explained to Billboard as quoted by NY Daily News, “My channel didn’t get credentialed, so I went with friends who had tickets. They didn’t check how many we had, so I was let in. First I went to the media line and interviewed quite a few celebrities, like Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Kidman. ...Then I just followed one girl in a green dress through the [Staples Center] gates. They checked my pockets but never asked to see a ticket. Only once I was inside the building did I realize, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s Katy Perry!’”
He may face trespassing charges.
