Apparently, not everyone is excited for Seth MacFarlane to host the Oscars. The first time host already has some doubters, especially one Alan Arkin.
Arkin told The Huffington Post, “I’m not a big fan of his. I find him a little crude, more crude than necessary."
Could it be that Arkin didn’t enjoy MacFarlane’s very tasteful Hitler jokes at the Oscar nominations? Perhaps.
MacFarlane’s friend, comedian Bill Maher, is also a bit nervous for him. He told USA Today, “It’s a tough gig. We've seen a lot of people crash and burn doing this. There's a lot of anxiety in the room during the night.”
But don’t worry, 39-year-old MacFarlane has a full proof plan. He told USA Today, “They say look and find a friendly face in the audience. I'm probably going to find Denzel Washington or maybe Joaquin Phoenix. Actually, I am very fond of my (Siamese fighting) fish, and I'm going to take the tank and put it right in the front row. If I get nervous, I'll look at the betta.”
And if anyone’s really worried about MacFarlane’s hosting the Oscars, then hopefully his promise to make it a one-time thing will be reassuring. The Guardian reported that MacFarlane said, “It's the time commitment, I just don't think I could do it again.”
