30 Rock's star Alec Baldwin and Young Adult actor Patrick Wilson are in talks to join Myriad Pictures’ mystery thriller Caught Stealing, directed by Oscar-winner Stefan Ruzowitzky.
Adapted from the Charlie Huston novel of same name, the story focuses on a former baseball player and bartender, Hank Thompson (Patrick Wilson), who mistakenly involves himself in a treasure hunt in New York City, reported Variety.
The screenwriter will be David Hayter, who wrote X-Men 2 and Watchmen. Director Ruzowitzky won an Oscar in 2007 for The Counterfeiters for Best Foreign Language Film.
The film will be produced by Lost Rhino Films’ Marcus Chait, James Carpinello and Wilson, reported Deadline. Myriad Pictures is currently pre-selling the film at the Berlin Film Festival.
Hitfix reported that Baldwin is shooting Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine with Cate Blanchett and Bobby Cannavale. The film will be in theaters on July 26, 2013.
Wilson’s recent film is James Wan’s The Conjuring with Vera Farmiga, coming to theaters on July 19, 2013.
