The NBA is showing that the NFL isn’t the only league that can draw big names to perform at its events. The league announced the musical line-up for its All-Star Weekend at Houston’s Toyota Center on Feb. 16-17.
Alicia Keys will perform during halftime, just two weeks after performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. The performance is part of the Entertainment Series presented by Sean John at Macy's. The game starts at 8 p.m. on TNT on Sunday, Feb. 17.
Keys will likely perform tracks from her newest album, Girl on Fire, which debuted at the top of the Billboard album chart.
Ne-Yo is also going to be on hand to announce the players at the beginning of the game, while John Legend will perform the National Anthem. Since the NBA does have a Canadian team, Lincoln actress Gloria Reuben will perform the Canadian National Anthem.
The NBA also has other events on Saturday, Feb. 16, which will be highlighted by more musical performers. “Lights” singer Ellie Goulding will perform, as will American Idol winner Phillip Phillips. Fall Out Boy will make their first TV appearance since announcing their new album and tour. They will sing “My Songs Know What You Did In The Day (Light Em Up)” before the dunk contest. RaVaughn and Michelle Peavy will sing the U.S. and Canadian National Anthems, respectively.
Keys will also be on TV this weekend. She’s set to perform at the Grammys on Sunday.
