How I Met Your Mother actress Alyson Hannigan has obtained a temporary restraining order after a stalker threatened the 38-year-old actress and her family.
According to The Associated Press, a judge granted the order after Hannigan stated that 43-year-old John Hobbs threatened her family in online postings.
In her filing she states that Hobbs, who was recently released from a mental hospital, "posted a barrage of threatening messages directed at me and my family on various websites."
She also states that Hobbs threatened to rape her and take her “to the afterlife.”
The order states that Hobbs must stay away from Hannigan, her family, as well as refrain from posting anything about her online.
TMZ notes that the threatening messages were posted on Hobbs’ Facebook, MySpace and Alyson’s personal website.
Among the posts one reads, "Lets see How can I get myself in troble today [sic]. If I go with what I've been acussed of Most of my Life, I suppose I should start with being a rapist, so any nice girls out there want to get raped [sic]?"
A hearing has been set for March 6 where the judge will decide if it is necessary to make the order permanent.
