‘American Horror Story’s’ Dylan McDermott lands role in Jerry Bruckheimer’s CBS pilot ‘Hostages’

Dylan McDermott will co-star in Hostages, the latest Jerry Bruckheimer production in development at CBS.

TV Line confirmed that McDermott will co-star with Toni Collette. The series is based on an Israeli drama about a family stuck in the middle of a big political conspiracy. Collette stars as the family matriarch and a surgeon. McDermott’s character is Duncan, an FBI agent who surprisingly causes the conspiracy.

According to The Wrap, the show was written by Traitor director Jeffrey Nachmanoff. He is also directing and executive producing the pilot. Alon Aranya, Omri Givon and Rotem Shamir created the original series.

Jerry Bruckheimer Television is co-producing with Warner Bros. TV.

McDermott has starred in the first season of American Horror Story and his other TV credits include The Practice and Dark Blue. He was also recently on the big screen in The Campaign.

Collette is best known for United States of Tara.

Other CBS drama pilots in the works include Eddie Murphy’s Beverly Hills Cop, Intelligence with Lost’s Josh Holloway and an NCIS: LA spin-off.
