'American Idol' alum Justin Guarini welcomes second son

Justin Guarini, runner-up on the first season of American Idol announced that his wife Reina Capodici gave birth to their second child, Asher, on February 25.

Perez Hilton reports the star said, “He’s the sweetest little boy you could ever ever ever ask for. He made his way into the world nice and easy.”

The couple are excited for their 22-month-old son, William Neko, to play big brother. The star said, “He came to see Asher when he was a day old and all he wanted to do was lean over and kiss him.” Guarini is also stepdad to his wife's daughter, Lola, 8.

The star shared that his schedule has become hectic lately, saying to People, “I’ve got three kids, I’ll be going back to Broadway soon and I’m still writing new music.” However, Guarini's busy calendar doesn't stop him from taking a television break every now and then to see the show that gave him his start.

The singer said of American Idol, “It’s so different than when I was on it. It was simpler. I feel like an old man watching it! But my heart goes out to the people on the show. They have to work unbelievably hard to get there.”

Even though caring for a newborn is challenging, he adds, “We’re gonna take Asher home today. I can’t wait.”
