Arizona boyfriend killing case resumes with new testimony from the accused

By Camille Requiestas,

Jodi Arias, 32, is charged with killing her lover, Travis Alexander, in Arizona. She told jurors on Monday that she woke up to find him having sexual intercourse with her.

Arias is in trial for first degree murder for the death of Alexander in June 2008 and faces the death penalty if found guilty.

ABC reports Arias testifying last week about her relationship with the victim and the events leading up to his death. Alexander was found with a slit throat, a gunshot to the head, and 27 stab wounds. Prosecutors believe Arias to have done this in moments of a jealous rage.

On Monday, she testified a moment that occurred a year before his death revealing she may not have been okay with their relationship which influenced her to convert to become Mormon and ironically was filled with sex and emotional detachment.

Arias states according to Yahoo! News, “He was on top of me, and had already penetrated and started having sex with me….I felt like I was partially responsible because I went to sleep next to him [wearing] a T-shirt and cute shorts.”

Her testimonies are mixture of claims in which she first said she was not there and now says it was self-defense.
